I think all kids should have to take auto shop, public speaking and personal finance in addition to the core classes. Why not wrap them all up into one class and make every graduating senior take it? On the auto side you can cover how to change a tire, if your air filter really does need replacing and how to jump start a car. Public speaking should really be a requirement all four years of high school. Personal finance should cover how credit cards work, how mortgages and loans work, investments, ROI, time value of money etc.
